FEBRUARY 2003

2/07/03 - 100% CPA - I finally received my scores back from the November 2002 exam and I'm pleased to announce I passed the fourth (ARE) and final section of the exam.  My overall scores are as follows:

This means I am now licensed as a CPA in the state of Oklahoma.  In order to transfer my license to the state of Texas, I need to complete an additional 27 hours of college courses.  6 of these hours must be accounting and the other 21 hours can by any topic of my choice (including wine tasting and basket weaving ;).  I hope to begin classes this summer, and it is looking like I will be attending the University of Texas in Arlington.  It will take approximately two years to complete the required courses (I'll be taking mostly evening classes).  Fortunately, my job is going to be highly supportive in this endeavor.

2/22/03 - Jonathan & Kahle - We received a pleasant visit from Jonathan and Kahle this weekend!  Both of them braved the cold and rain in order to make the four-hour trip from Stillwater.  While here we visited the Fort Worth Nature Reserve, Botanical Gardens, and enjoyed dining at a few of the unique local restaurants. 

In addition to touring some of our favorite Fort Worth attractions, we also had plenty of time to play a few games and "catch up".  It's always thoroughly enjoyable to have visitors!

2/26/03 - Let it Snow?!? - Well, in the entire time we have lived in Texas, we had yet to see snow until this week.  In addition, unlike most of Oklahoma, everything pretty much shuts down whenever snow descends in the area.  Thus, Susan and I were both "snowed in" Tuesday and Wednesday (many businesses close if the schools are closed).  There wasn't enough snow to build a snowman or create snow angels, but it was still enjoyable to relax and sip on a cup of hot cocoa :).
