SEPTEMBER 2005

09/10/05 - Grapefest – Susan and I spent the entire day at Grapefest in Grapevine, TX, and had a wonderful time! We sampled wine from Texas, Austria, Mexico, Italy, Canada, Spain, New Zealand, and South Africa. We also visited six wineries in the area (many within walking distance and the others via a complimentary shuttle bus) and enjoyed the tastings at each one (well, except for that one serving cat urine mixed with a Juniper bush).

We snacked on pizza and visited all of the open shops and tents along Main Street. We also won a grape stomping event we participated in and at that point in time we had stomped the greatest volume of juice for the entire weekend (13.5 ounces). We were tired in the end, but it was a blast.

In addition to the wine tasting there was also a cheese sampling. I don't remember all of the varieties, but I liked about half of them. There was even one sweet cheese that was very unusual. It almost tasted like eating pure sugar.   While doing all of the above there was always music or some other type of entertainment on every street corner.  We had a lot of fun!

09/17/05 - Recent Pictures – Finally a lazy Saturday.  Since Susan is napping I thought it would be a good time to upload a few pictures.  These are all from the past month or so.
